Daddy’s Soul Food & Grille
The Near West Side is home to three well known Black owned restaurants. If your taste buds are not sure what to crave, Jizzles Sandwich Shop offers the perfect variety of dining options. Perfectly seasoned burgers, fish, and sandwiches are just a handful of offerings, and are definitely worth the wait. Just a few blocks away is Goodway Grille, satisfying your wings, burgers, pizza, chicken sandwiches, nachos and tacos needs. The restaurant also serves breakfast, perfect for the early birds. Perhaps the most well known of the three restaurants is Daddy’s Soul Food & Grille, which recently completed an expansion and renovation. Home to arguably the best soul and comfort food in the city, the pork chops, peach cobbler, catfish, and ribs are all must try dishes. Vegetarian options are available as well!

During normal times the Near West Side is home to a variety of entertainment, including concerts at The Rave / Eagles Club and the bandshell at nearby Washington Park.
